Folder Reporting

The Belgian National Focal Point to the Global Taxonomycontinuously strives to optimise its capacity building program, both in termsof logistics and in contents. Grantees’ opinions are instrumental in order tolearn from successes as well as failures. Therefore we ask grantees to send usa concise written report.

Grantees from developing countries thathave benefitted from a capacity building visit to Belgium are requested to fill inthe feedback questionnaire as available here (1).

Grantees are also stimulated toannex their report with pictures that reflect either their taxonomic work (e.g. sampling in the field) or theirreceived training in Belgium(e.g. lab work). The Belgian NationalFocal Point might use some of these pictures in one of its reportingactivities, but only after the copyright holder has given his permission.

Grantees are also asked to sendall outputs of their capacity building training (e.g. scientific papers, new species, collections, posters, toolsdeveloped, etc.) to the Belgian GTI Office and this preferentially inelectronic form.

Belgian promoters of capacity building project in adeveloping country are requested to submit a written report no laterthan 15 May of the year in which the project ends. There is no required formator form for this report. However, reports will include at least the followingitems:

  • number, name, sex, qualification level, type of contribution and length of involvement (person-months) of researchers, managers and/or trainers;
  • number, name, sex, qualification level, type of contribution and length of involvement (person-months) of trainees;
  • achieved results (e.g. scientific papers, new species, collections, posters, tools developed, etc.);
  • outreach activities (if pertinent; e.g. workshops, press conferences, etc.);
  • a number of representative pictures of activities (if pertinent);
  • foreseen exit strategy (long term vision on durability of project);
  • etailed financial report.

Promoters are also stimulated toannex their report with pictures that reflect either their taxonomic work (e.g.sampling in the field) or the provided training in the partner country. TheBelgian National Focal Point might use some of these pictures in one of itsreporting activities, but only after the copyright holder has given hispermission.
